IntroductionCarolina is currently based in Paris teaching and advancing her yoga studies at Ashtanga Yoga Paris, while also working as Chef de Cuisine at VOY Alimento, a boutique-restaurant 100% organic, vegetarian, and vegan. Upon completing her Master's of Arts at New York University (NYU) in May 2011, Carolina embarked on a yoga-cooking teaching and training tour throughout Europe. During the Fall 2011, she moved to France to complete a French cultural studies at La Sorbonne in Paris. During the Spring of 2010, Carolina was granted five scholarships: International Foodservice Editorial Council, P.E.O International Peace Scholarship, Les Dames d'Escoffier, the Institute of Culinary Education Career Development, and the Julia Child Boston Foundation, which offered her more tools to continue advancing various cultural, food, and yoga-related work in France, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Denmark, where she immersed in the kitchen of NOMA, considered the world's best restaurant, in Copenhagen.
InterestsAfter being selected as an exemplary student by the Colombian Government’s Scholarship program and as a James Beard Foundation Scholar during the Summer of 2009, Carolina started her M.A. at NYU and worked as the Artistic Director of the-Office of Community Connections-at NYU’s Tisch School of Arts, where she created the first-ever 'NYU Healthy Alive' program looking to potentialize students’ dreamed arts-based projects as well as promoting healthy and creative living. Carolina began her educational world journey as soon as she graduated from the Marymount School in Barranquilla, Colombia in 2004. She was chosen as a Rotary Scholar to complete a B.S. in International Studies in Atlanta, Georgia –graduated Summa Cum Laude-, which ultimately forged her intention of making a difference in our world through the arts. As a passionate yoga teacher, natural cook/advocate, Carolina created her own arts project,-Ecocozina-,with a bilingual approach to yoga, culinary arts, healthy living,and environmental sustainability. During the Spring of 2008, Carolina worked for-The Carter Center-,and previously, worked for-CIFAL Atlanta-,in various programs dedicated to the achievement of the-UN Millennium Development Goals-. Apart from working for Colombian think tanks and Governmental organizations during college, she also experienced the American Food Corporate sector, working for-Aramark-,-ABL Management-, Carlyle’s-, and as Manager of a -Starbucks- Licensed Store. Carolina loves instructing Yoga and Latin Dancing, as well as Cooking. During her spare time she enjoys biking, studying arts, traveling and striving to live better every day.
