InterestsIt has been a while now since I first discovered the Buddha's teachings and began exploring what he meant and out how to practice the path in daily life. His Holiness the 14th Dalia Lama has been the main source of inspiration for myself and many others on this journey. He is the embodiment of compassion and wisdom, pragmatic and inclusive of all people regress of race, class, religion, gender, nationality etc. He often says that, we are global citizen, all seeking happiness but must live together in harmony in our shared home, planet earth. This blog came about after discussions with Buddhist students who felt a need to openly discuss how the 2500 year old teachings of Buddha can offer the modern world. As part of this discussion the aim is to help individuals develop inner spiritual practice so as to become outwardly, a positive agent within our families and community. In short how to practice inner peace for outer peace. In this way we hope to highlight His Holiness the Dalia Lamas wish for the global practice of Secular Ethics. Buddha's teachings have been labeled, as philosophy, religion, physiology, a way of life and lately as science of the mind. However you want to label the teachings, Buddha taught to enable all of us to transform our suffering into happiness. We therefore hope that you will find something here that speaks to you.
