| Introduction | Craig Kent, MD, has dedicated three decades to health system leadership, consistently focusing on improving patient access, enhancing the quality of care, and providing advanced treatment to individuals with complex medical needs. His career spans academic medicine, research leadership, and executive roles, all marked by a commitment to building strong healthcare institutions and mentoring the next generation of medical professionals. Dr. Craig Kent began his leadership journey as Division Chief in Vascular Surgery at both Columbia University and Cornell University, where he also directed the Vascular Service line for NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. He later became Chair of the Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. At Ohio State University, he was appointed Dean of the College of Medicine, Vice President for Health Sciences, and Co-Leader of the Health System. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President of Health Affairs and CEO of the University of Virginia Health System. His influence and achievements have been recognized by his induction into the National Academy of Medicine. |
