| Introduction | I'm a carer for Viv, who is a little disabled following a brush with a tumour and hydrocephalus a few years ago, and cancer more recently. We're both around 60-ish but are rebellious in spirit and inquisitive by nature. In a previous life I mostly worked in IT, including three and a half years on the NHS Spine programme, although I can assure you I would much rather have done something else. For a while I did repair stained glass windows, and still do some glass work as a hobby; many years ago I dabbled in the music business. I spent six mostly awful years at Christ's Hospital, before rushing into a Statistics course at City University, graduating in 1979. I went into IT because I was told 'you're good at maths so should do something mathematical'. Now older and wiser, I realise I would have been much happier if my career had included a significant amount of writing. |
