Introduction	I'm Joan Macphail - welcome to my blog! I'm a Scottish Highlander and long-term resident of Macedonia, Greece. My Greek husband, Zissis, and I live in the countryside. Far from the urban noise and chaos, we are off the beaten track and revel in that solitude. I am semi-retired, operating as a consultant for a private high school, helping prepare high-flyers in their application to foreign universities. I am also consultant to an English university, assessing candidates on EFL teacher training courses. Things Greek, Scottish, educational and linguistic will feature as will our doggie, my pursuits of gardening, cooking and …..light exercise! Expect, too, the odd wry take on unfolding events – national and international!
