Introduction	I am a writer and a mountain traveler who lives on the central Oregon coast. The fact that I don't really know what a blog is apparently hasn't yet disqualified me from "having" one. I've published five books: Letters from Chamonix, winner of the Banff Mountain Book Award for fiction in 2014; Warnings Against Myself: Meditations on a Life in Climbing; the novel, Forty Crows; High Places, Sacrifices, Mysteries; and Points of Astonishment: Alpine Stories. I grow old, I grow old, I wear my trousers rolled.
