| Introduction | After many years in advertising I returned to school to get a masters in applied anthropology. This blog represents my thesis in progress. I employed an El Salvadoran babysitter to help with my three children. She later became my housecleaner and collaborator on this research. Other themes are how nannies and their employers are interdependent upon each other, and how the relationship has changed post-9/11, with tightened security on the border, and concerns about legality. |
