|Introduction||I enjoy & adore veggie cooking for myself and wife / long time vegetarian (almost vegan currently) / DTP specialist for living / Apple devotee / Classic rock freak / used to live in Honolulu, Hawaii for six years and now living back in Japan.
I became a vegetarian 27 years ago due to serious health problems at the time however, since I quit eating animals and changed a plant based organic food diet, it significantly restored my health condition and I feel good overall since then.
Once I was rather doctrinaire, macrobiotic follower type of vegan especially when I was trying to recover from trouble (Yes,it works. Changing your food intake can change your life.) but now I would prefer 90/10 healthy food strategy which the idea originally came from a nutrition expert Joy Bauer. You eat a healthy diet 90% of the time and 10% of the time you are allowed other foods. Those other foods would be “comfort foods.” In her book, she calls them “fun foods” which removes the stigma of being naughty or forbidden foods.
