| Introduction | Born in the hollers and gorges of beautiful Kentucky, Steele grew up a closet poet and writer. Her Appalachian roots and eye for a good story has taken her on to achieve her always present hope for publication. First being her poem entitled, Charity, written on a napkin while helping serve at a local soup kitchen, and was received as a finalist for Eber and Wein. Growing up in the country where sawdust floats on the breeze and the creeks never empty, Steele has been surrounded by rich history and wonderful people who help inspire her inspirational works. With the growing Amish community around her she has found their strong faith and family ties an inspiration that welded her to put onto her pages. A mother of four beautiful kids and an amazing step-daughter, Steele has been blessed with family and soon will be welcoming another grandchild to her clutch. When not willing her world into another story she can be found baking for grandbabies, hiking the rich countryside she calls home, or simply working in her garden. |
