| Introduction | Michael grew up in NYC and wanted to become a comic book artist. Discovering the art world in his university studies, he focused on printmaking and visual art, experimenting with plastics in sculpture. In 1975 he moved to Germany working as a graphic artist in the trade show industry. He studied painting and German language in Nuremberg. He was an artist-in-residence at the Foundation Karolyi in Vence, France. In 1980 he established his art studio on an historic farm near Atlanta and began teaching. The Georgia Council for the Arts awarded him grants to promote art appreciation in schools. His art work is included in the Governor’s Collection. Many of his early works are in the collection of the Arts Council and Brenau College in Gainesville, Georgia. In 1986 he began making pictures using computers. As an exhibit designer in the Atlanta convention industry he learned CAD. Michael earned IBM certification as a Multimedia and Education Technology Specialist. He has offered training in technology since 1991 and served as computer technician at Duluth High School for 12 years. Recently, he and his wife Carolyne have settled in St. Augustine. |
