Introduction My music journey began when I was 6. Singing along to Don Ho and Eddie Arnold records, I entertained my mom and her friends. From there I graduated to Quaker Oats boxes and empty coffee cans - learning to keep a steady groove. In the 5th grade I took my first guitar lesson and by 7th I was taking piano lessons and by HS I was playing drums in the school’s jazz, pep, and concert bands. I was also playing in the Sunday morning worship team at the church. I started a band at this time. I played drums and sang. I played keyboards for a while, too, but unable to find a bass player, I learned to play bass guitar. I played in bands from Seattle to Portland throughout the rest of the 80’s. During the 90’s I pretty much quit playing, though found me in the studio writing and recording. My songs have been on the radio from Alaska to Connecticut. Today I am living in SE Alaska playing live once again. Though I like writing and recording, I thoroughly enjoy playing live – the nervousness, adrenaline, entertainment, and audience – there’s nothing like live. I want to use this project to capture the live experience of Ketchikan’s various and vibrant music scene and present it to a new audience.
