Introduction Corippo is the birthplace of my great grandfather Bartolomeo Arcotti. I spent many, if not most, weekends with his daughter, my grandmother, and she was wonderful to me for the twenty years we spent together. To think of Corippo is to think of her and her people. For this reason, I have chosen to carry the love I feel for her forward in this blog. I have been studying all of my genealogy and family history for over ten years. This is my first blog, joining cousin Luciano Scilacci on the Corripo project in June of 2013. I imagine that our audience will be primarily each other,at least at first. I hope that other relatives and anyone interested in Corippo will contact me or Luciano to share photos and stories. Corippo is an enchanting and mysterious place. What is its story and where did these people come from? I hope to awaken the sleepy little village from its solitude at least in the hearts of those of us who feel love when reminded of its small special charm.
Interests Walking along a path by a stream, hearing the water drip and seeing the animals being themselves. Climbing a grassy hill on a windy day as the sun is shining down, creating rippled movement on the surface. Hearing intricate jazz or mournful blues, with decades of experience concentrated down to mere moments. Discovering new paths, eating new tastes, reconciling experience, pain and gain.
Favorite Movies The Lion in Winter and any well made film set in the time and place of family historical events. I review again and again The Tree of Wooden Clogs for this reason.
Favorite Music I mainly listen to spoken word albums and female jazz vocalists.
Favorite Books Anything by Fernando Pessoa, Jose Mattoso, Charles Dickens, Iris Murdoch, Roger Ebert. Crime and Punishment, The Idiot, The Turn of the Screw, A Fairly Honorable Defeat, An Undiscovered Island, Nobiliario de Familias de Portugal, The Corripians. I have no television or cell phone. I read almost always.

The squish of mud between your toes; how would you live your life as a frog?

I have lived life as a frog in my imagination as a child in Salinas on the ranch along the lake one special Summer over 40 years ago. Shiny smooth wet silky mud, looking for clean warm space away from hard cracking dryness. And always a hand in my blinks, the boy collecting.
