| Introduction | I am a self-taught artist and have only informally exhibited my work. I have been painting and selling my work since my early teens. Many of my paintings can be found on Grand Manan as well as in St. Andrews, Fredericton, St. John and across North America. I like to take images that resonate in my mind and paint them in way that intensifies the image to the point where it will grab the observer. I am drawn to images from the sea and the coast, as well as animals and birds. I paint with acrylics mainly on paper and use photographs as a guide. I delight in enhancing detail until the image is super-real. I am particularly fascinated by images that have an interplay of light and shadow. I approach every new image that catches my attention as a new challenge. |
