| Introduction | Hello! My name is Julie Heitz. I am extremely excited that I will be your child’s teacher! I just got married this past summer in Las Vegas! I graduated from Bowling Green State University and then ventured to Columbus, where I received my teaching license from Ashland University. I completed my student teaching at Souders with Lisa Andrews in 3rd grade. This is my second year teaching 2nd grade (it's always been my dream). I taught third for one year here, at GRE and one year at BWE. I also taught 1st grade at Souders for two years. I started with Big Walnut as a reading intervention teacher and taught 3rd grade in Casa Grande (south of Phoenix), Arizona for two years. I have many great teaching strategies and ideas to share from my experiences and I am sure I will learn many more this year too. My goal is to make learning both engaging and purposeful. |
| Interests | I am an advid reader, enjoy the outdoors, especially hiking, biking, rollerblading, and swimming. I competed in my first triathlon this past July. Hobbies include: sewing, shopping, dining out, and volunteering with several of the organizations I belong to. |
