| Introduction | The Ballard family relocated from the Pacific Northwest to Michigan in 1995. We live in a small town about 45 minutes outside of Detroit, but spend most of our time in Ann Arbor, only 15 minutes away, and the home of the University of Michigan. Kerry is a partner in a small machine tooling business and Linda runs the circulation department at the local public library. We have three grown children. Our oldest, Morgan, lives only 45 minutes away, is married to a great guy named Frank, and is expecting our first grandchild in early June. Our middle child, Ian, lives in Idaho, where he goes to college full-time and works as a wild range firefighter when he is not being a student. Our youngest child, Clif, is a junior at a college about an hour away, and just got home from a semester abroad in France. Having been raised "out west", we think the weather here sucks and look forward to relocating to a warmer climate as soon as we can. We survive the winters by taking annual trips to warmer places, one of our favorites being Key West! |
