Introduction Founding Executive Director of the Ohr-O'Keefe Museum of Art in Biloxi, MS. Worked in other fields that fed her love of writing. Published in Roanoke Review, Artemis Journal, Floyd County Moonshine, Valley Voices, Indolent Books, Clinch River Review, & Visitant-Lit. In 2022, two poems to be displayed with quilts in the Colonial Piecemakers Guild & Poetry Society of Virginia (PSV) exhibition in Hampton, VA. Essays in Katrina: Mississippi Women Remember (2007). I also paint - recent works at the Virginia Beach Artists' Center (2020), in Floyd County Moonshine, in Artemis, and at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. A watercolor, Shake It Off, was accepted in the international 2022 Gallerium: Extinction exhibition & catalog. My poems + verse, carmen duca, are also on exhibit at the Roanoke, VA, Municipal Building. Gowdy is a Virginia Tech graduate and has a master's from University of North Carolina-Greensboro. She is newsletter editor for PSV.
