| Introduction | On almost any Wednesday we get out of the house and try to explore a new place in northern California. Our goal is always the same: To hike a trail or walk city streets to get exercise, to be surprised by new places, and to experience art and people in our travels to expand our minds and hearts. The places we visit can be anything and anywhere—empty stretches of beach, a famous author’s home, a wildlife reserve, a downtown art gallery, a play, a sporting event, the workshop of an obscure solitary craftsman, a historical site, anything. All that matters is an adventure that takes us away from weekly routines. |
