IntroductionI started cooking from scratch at the age of 10 when I joined 4-H. I grew up on a farm and my mother always cooked & baked from scratch. We grew our own vegetables, got milk from our cows, pork from our pigs, eggs from our chickens, and beef from our beef cattle. I know lots of people who say they love to cook & bake, but they use mixes. I never buy cake mix or brownie mix or get envelopes of salad dressing mix or any kind of mix. I can't stand the thought of all of the artificial ingredients, chemicals & preservatives that are used. I think the art of cooking from scratch is being lost. Cooking is so spiritually satisfying. Baking and cooking from scratch does not have to always be so time-consuming. There are some tricks and ways to take short-cuts and still use authentic and wholesome food! That's what this blog is all about.
