Introduction	The Society of Young Philanthropists is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization designed to create a network of distinguished professionals by supporting and promoting philanthropic causes. Through charitable events, we will raise awareness and instill a commitment to philanthropy in the next generation of community leaders. The Society of Young Philanthropists, founded in L.A. in 2004, started its second chapter in Dallas, Texas in late 2009. SYP L.A. Founder Elishia Bolour brought the mission and vision from L.A. to Dallas while earning her Master’s degree from Southern Methodist University. After establishing a founding executive board for this Dallas chapter, the group has already hit the ground running and is excited to present its first annual society gala on May 22, 2010.
