Introduction Alberto Mira is a Reader in film and Hispanic Studies at Oxford Brookes University, specializing in Spanish cinema, Film narrative, film style, stardom, film and society and representations of sexuality and the body. He is the author of the Historical Dictionary of Spanish Cinema and edited the volume 24 Frames: The cinema of Spain and Portugal. He wrote one of the first comphrensive histories of homosexuality in Spain, De Sodoma a Chueca and the monograph on film and homosexuality Miradas insumisas. Publications include articles and book chapters on Lorca, Terenci Moix, Zulueta, Mario Casas, Sara Montiel, Blanco Amor, Ventura Pons and Pedro Almodóvar. Also the author of two novels, Como la tentación and Londres para corazones despistados. Profesor de cine en la Oxford Brookes University, autor de Para entendernos , De Sodoma a Chueca y Miradas insumisas.
