| Introduction | Filomusi Productions is a newly established dance company in the heart of Aarhus, Denmark. It is created by the Danish dancer and choreographer Julie Brøgger, who with a background from the dance scene in Copenhagen, Amsterdam and New York wish to expand the ideas of modern dance. Connect the artists in Aarhus as well as to think beyond borders and nationalities. "As a dancer and choreographer I constantly challenge myself to find new ways to use the body. I like to investigate the body and it's possibilities within movement and find that the process is equally as important as the goal. Filomusi's Performances are created in a close collaboration with the dancers. We work with their individuality, their mentality as well as their physical ability, and by doing so we use the dancer not only as a physical object, but as the person it is with all it's aspects. This makes the performance more present without compromising the modern dance as a genre". |
