| Introduction | I was born, raised and educated in Chanthaburi, Thailand. I came to the U.S. and earned an Associate of Science degree in Management at Kentucky Business College before earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Berea College, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Minnesota where I have also completed post-graduate course work in Public Health Nursing. I am a licensed Public Health Nurse and Certified Food Manager, and I am employed by St. Paul - Ramsey Co. Dept. of Public Health where I work primarily with Hmong and SE Asian clients, mostly young mothers. I have also been a volunteer at the Center for Victims of Torture and have been a trained professional community interpreter since 1991. In addition to English and Thai, I am fluent in Lao, and semi-fluent in Hmong. I have been a naturalized citizen of the United States since February 13, 1988. To learn more about me, read Susan Pagani's profile in The Heavy Table. |
