Introduction	Why go a year without plastic? Why just packaging? Why write a blog about it? We believe plastic is bad for health and the environment. We don't understand these issues fully but we know enough to want out for health reasons. Toxicity in our kitchen or in the food chain ultimately effect our health. We discussed doing a year without any plastic but decided baby steps first was a better approach. Packaging is the easiest thing to eschew and it amounts, we believe, to the largest portion of waste. It's low hanging fruit. We're blogging about this for a few reasons. We wanted a way to share our methods with, as well as get suggestions from others. If you add up all the solutions of a community you have a lot of wisdom to draw on. If, with your help, we can go a year without plastic and without any real inconvenience, then it will be easy and painless for others to draw on the solutions we've gathered.
