Introduction	As a child, I spent most of my summers "doing hard time" in my mother's flower gardens, while my older brothers spent their time in our father's very large (to me) vegetable garden. I didn't realize then what an influence those summer months would have on me, even now. I enjoy gardening and find that it can be calming, meditative, and irritating beyond belief. When my husband and I moved into our first home, we inherited an already thriving, very overgrown, vegetable garden for a front yard. We've whittled it down to several raised beds and some weeds. Our gardening endeavors have also led to experimenting with canning and freezing. After helping friends with their own gardening endeavors and a little coaxing, I'm starting this blog as a journal of my trials, tribulations, and victories in the garden. There is the distinct possibility that I may include adventures outside of the garden as well. We'll just have to see.
