| Introduction | Dr. Susan Smith Kuczmarski is the author of four books on parenting and leadership. Her two family books, “The Sacred Flight of the Teenager: A Parent’s Guide to Stepping Back and Letting Go” (2004) and “The Family Bond: Inspiring Tips for Creating a Closer Family” (2000), received the prestigious “Seal of Approval Award” from the National Parenting Center. Her recent leadership book, “Apples Are Square: Thinking Differently About Leadership,” was selected by Fast Company Magazine as a “2007 Best Business Book” and received the 2007 Book of the Year Award from Foreword Magazine. She co-authored “Values-Based Leadership” (1995), which launched the values in the workplace movement. Dr. Kuczmarski gives lectures and seminars for leaders, parents and educators and has researched how leadership is learned. She has taught at seven universities, and holds a Doctorate in Education and two masters degrees from Columbia University in New York City, where she was named an International Fellow. She is quoted in print across the country, is a frequent radio and television guest, and has appeared on "The Today Show." She has been listed in "Who's Who in the World" for twelve years. |
