As an Assistant Coach, his responsibilities include post player development, assisting with the Rams' offense, scouting opponents, creating game plans and assisting in recruiting efforts. Passmore comes to URI from nearby Roger Williams University (Bristol, R.I.) where he spent the last season as an assistant on the women's basketball staff. In May of 2010, Passmore was appointed interim head coach of the program, before leaving to join the Rams' staff. Prior to his stint with the Hawks, Passmore attended Providence College, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Political Science and served as the women's basketball team manager from 2003-07. In the summer of 2007, he organized and directed head coach Phil Seymore's basketball camp. After finishing his undergraduate studies at PC, Passmore remained with the Friars as a graduate assistant coach and was promoted to the position of interim assistant coach in 2007-08. He went on to earn his Master's degree in Education in the spring of 2009.
Interests Love spending time with my wife, Christine (married on 6/15/2008) and our Golden Retriever. We really enjoy being outside and exploring our town, Newport (the "City by the Sea"). I try to maintain a balance between personal/work/social life so when I'm not involved in basketball I enjoy playing my guitar, exploring trails and new beaches, and learning & growing! We also travel a lot- Christine's family lives in Germany so at least once a year we take a trip over there. In addition to foreign countries (Fiji, Bermuda, France, Germany, Holland, France, Italy) we also enjoy exploring the USA (visited 29 states).
Favorite Movies The nerd in me loves superhero/comic movies, but also comedies (Dumb & Dumber) and horror movies.
Favorite Music Little bit of everything- classic rock (Pink Floyd, The Doors, The Beatles, The Who, CSNY), folk rock (Fleet Foxes), Frank Sinatra & Tony Bennett, and some new stuff (Coldplay, Kings of Leon, Jack Johnson).
Favorite Books Easy: "UCLA Offense" by John Wooden.
