Introduction	Melissa Palazzo is co-founder, creative director and principal designer of Pal + Smith. Raised in Northern and Southern California, Palazzo attended New York University, where she pursued an education in art and design. Returning to California, she joined Saddleback Interiors in 1997, quickly establishing herself as a premier designer in the high-end residential marketplace. Because of her detailed understanding of different design periods and how to integrate traditional design with modern design elements, Palazzo works closely with a variety of architects and builders to achieve environments that are ingeniously functional while at the same time luxurious and timeless in style. Her husband, Marc Palazzo, is president of Pal + Smith. He has a bachelor’s degree in economics and an MBA, with an emphasis on urban development and planning. He is an expert in interior architecture, and he executes the firm’s hospitality design projects and modeling for residential developments.
