Introduction I am an Associate Fellow at the Oxford University (‘Oxford’) and a Research Associate at Queen Mary, University of London (‘QMUL’). I investigate the links between law, society, and computer-mediated communication technologies. Until recently, I was a post-doctoral researcher on the EC-funded “Accountability for Cloud” project at QMUL. I have taught law at various universities including the London School of Economics (‘LSE’), QMUL and Oxford. I am a non-practising commercial barrister with substantial experience in technology law. I have been called to the Bars of England & Wales and Mauritius. I am a consultant to Preiskel & Co LLP, a leading technology City law firm. Asma holds an LLB from LSE, an LLM in Computer & Communications Law from QMUL and a DPhil in Law from Oxford.
Interests Internet regulation, technology regulation, data protection, privacy, defamation, free speech, cloud computing, actor-network theory, Foucault, socio-legal studies.
