Introduction	My name is Jessica Abels and I know you're not supposed to start things like this with "my name is." I was born and raised in a tiny town in the heart of Iowa, where I enjoyed sitting on my front porch and eating copious amounts of fresh red meat. But this year I'm trading in burgers for bangers, the Mississippi for the Thames, and moving to the UK on a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship. Thanks to Rotary International's enduring commitment to global understanding, I am lucky enough to live, learn and write for one year across the pond. These are the chronicles of my endeavors to make connections between the US and UK, of tube rides, tea, queues and mushy peas. Just kidding about the peas.
