Introduction	"As one who is considered being neither from here nor there, I have become unmoored and borderless and accordingly, Americana. And by this I do not mean American, but AMERICANA, meaning a legitimate heir and product of the Americas of which both Hispaniola and the United States are a part. My sense of entitlement and of legitimate residency further extends to Europe and Africa, continents whose histories are inextricably bound with that of the Americas. Meaning that aside from the fact that I am descended from people of both continents, those continents also profited from colonialism and the enslavement of my people in Hispaniola."
