| Introduction | A revolution is upon us! Our great nation is turning…. green! Since I was a child, my father has been telling me to turn off the lights, take shorter showers and keep the thermostat down and for years I had no idea what he meant, until now. Today, we are faced with some of the most devastating natural disasters as well as the inevitable shortage of raw materials; however, with a few simple life and leisure changes, we can help turn this problem into something so 2009. Moving to Washington DC has opened my eyes to the amount of changes being made everyday in our communities to aid in the effort. DC’s Dupont Corridor is a prime example of how other cities around the nation can learn and implement strategies to be more environmentally friendly. Now with the Healthcare Reform bill passed, it is time for President Obama to bring the environmental issues to the forefront of politics. My blog is here to help push those issues and to encourage and show people ways in which they can help with the movement. Whether you are a local Washingtonian or a visitor to our nation’s capital, Dupont is a great place to live, visit, shop and eat green! So just remember, Vive la Revolution Verte! |
