Introduction I am a Marine Mammal Observer and Passive Acoustic monitor. My job is to collect data on location, behavior and interactions of marine mammals and sea turtles during offshore industrial activities. I provide information to clients, and monitor and report on, the implementation of mitigation guidelines. Over the past 5 years my work has taken me to the Gulf of Mexico, North Sea, East and West Africa, the Mediterranean and South America. I am a graduate of the first year of the Research Masters in Marine Mammal Science at the University of St Andrews, Scotland (2008). I am interested in marine mammal habit use and how oceanography and human activities impact marine mammal occurrence and distribution. I have worked as a volunteer research assistant in the small village of Kizimkazi-Dimbani, Zanzibar on the Zanzibar Humpback Whale Research Project 2011 and 2012 and am currently doing a habitat analysis of the humpback whales there.
