Introduction I'm Macho.
Favorite Movies Magnolia; The Good, The Bad and the Ugly; Seven Samuri (Kurosawa = genius); Kill Bill. Really, I should list my favorite directors: Sergio Leone, Akria Kurosawa, Quentin Tarantion, PT Anderson - those are my faves. Good mix, even if QT is only copying the older guys. PT Anderson makes pretty poignant movies, I think - but maybe I'm a simpleton. My friend Seth keeps trying to get me into Kubrick, but I can't. Surprisingly, Seth isn't pretentious. Kubrick? Seriously? His movies are unbelievably boring. I like Jean-Pierre Jeunet also, but I wouldn't go so far as to call him a favorite. City of Lost Children and Amelie were good though. I like movies. I'm kinda a sucker for some big Hollywood stuff too, especially action joints. The new Batman movies, the last Bond (Daniel Craig - what a badass he was in Layercake), Born Identity (but not the followups - not so good sans Franka), etc. That's probably enough...
Favorite Music Favorite Music? Wellll, here's what's on my iPhone right now. First off, Radiohead. Let's just get that one out there right now. If you don't like them, your music is seriously suffering. I understand you, though - because I used to love Rush (okay, I secretly still like old Rush, but that's neither here nor there). It's okay to have crap music. I had a friend in High School that bought me my first Smiths CD - Strangeways Here We Come - which revolutionized my music. Prior to that, I wouldn't have had Radiohead either, not that they're some great music secret... they're just the best that's ever been. Secondly, let me just say that Working for a Nuclear Free City is pretty awesome too. My friend Andy turned me on to them. He calls them "Manchester's Best Kept Secret." Here's my current playlist: Asobi Seksu Blood Red Shoes Born Ruffians Brazilian Girls Bright Eyes Built to Spill Calexico Camera Obscura Coldplay Death Cab DeVotchKa Elbow The Flaming Lips Home Video Julian Fane Loney, Dear Los Campesinos! Mew Mice Parade Muse Mystery Jets Oasis Persephone's Bees Pinback The Postal Service Radiohead, beaches The Shins Stars Two Gallants Vampire Weekend Working for a Nuclear Free City This list switches around a lot, as I add stuff I'm test driving, and keep on some old favorites. My phone only holds 8GB, so I have to keep the current list small. I've got about 250GB on my computer... 50, 774 songs and counting.
Favorite Books Sci-fi... I know, I know... Look, if you knew me when I was like 16, you'd know the inner nerd that I am. Seriously. I used to think Jimmy Z shirts were the hight of fashion.
