| Introduction | Born in Kelantan on 19 February 1956, Moechtar Awang received his early education in Kota Bharu before participating in the Descriptive and Creative Writing Programme, University of Malaya, where he obtained his BA in 1986. His collection of poems Pasrah (1981) won the Putra I Poetry Award. His second collection of poems Qaf was published in 1986. He is currently teaching at a secondary school in Kelantan. |
