| Introduction | Greetings! An eternally aspiring author, doctoral candidate, and mother of four, this is truly one of the “ah-ha!” moments in my career. I've wanted to be a writer since childhood--yep, I was one of those geeks who headed to the library for a good time--I prayed I'd have something to say when the time came. So here I am--after spending the last ten years writing like a madwoman, and studying poetry, fiction and creative non-fiction with the generous and skilled instructors at UCLA-Extension. So, c'mon, let's start reading! SLEEPY HEAD is a bedtime story for anybody who likes to go to sleep... with a poem in his head. |
| Interests | In addition to raising kids (and having my hair raised by them!) I love to read, write, enter workshops, classes, and contests, hike, camp, shop, and eat. That just about covers it--oh!--except for going to the movies and traveling. In fact, I've had the good fortune to live in many places, including New York, Paris, Arizona, California, North Carolina, and, briefly, Florida. |
| Favorite music | Everything musical, from rock to jazz to classical to opera to contemporary. If I could die and choose my heaven, I'd be an ear, music my sound. |
| Favorite books | Ooooh, this is fun. Too many to list! But I'll try anyway--starting with Mother Goose, fairy tales and Arabian nights, continuing through mysteries, magic, adventures and saints and on to Defoe and Fielding and Austen, Dickens and the modernists. And more and more and more. |
