| Introduction | I am currently taking a class at the Austin Community College on US National Government. Im taking this class to complete degree requirements at The University of Texas at Austin. I took some quizzes to see where I stand on my knowledge of national government and honestly, I was shocked to see how ill-informed I really am. I hope that this class will allow me to have a better understanding of government topics. Growing up, I was raised in a very conservative home. My father would come home every day and just sit for hours watching FOX News. So I didnt really get a balance in my household and I would see liberal views as wrong just because of what I had been taught. In High School I became very aware of the liberal aspect on topics. I went to an arts school and was one of the two conservatives in my government class. It was interesting to see how different people think and although I am still naive in some areas, I feel like I've grown alot in my own way and made my own voice on how I feel about certain governmental issues. |
