Introduction	is a professor of African American Literature and director of Africana Studies at the University of Miami. His research interests include black gender studies, cultural criticism, hip hop culture, and post-racial politics. He has published three books including, Nation of Cowards: Black Activism in Barack Obama's Post-Racial America and Blinded by the Whites: Why Race Still Matters in 21st-Century America.
