Introduction | I am a native Oregonian who writes about the American West: poems, essays, short stories, and two novels. If you enjoy Never Done, you might also like Brute Heart, a more contemporary family drama. A nature essay I wrote about tumbleweeds won first prize in the 2011 Rising Star contest for Pacific Northwest writers, and I received a Writer’s Digest honorable mention in 2010 for my poem, “A Bar Stool’s Lament.” Another poem, "If I Wore Sensible Shoes," was published in the 2013 Gold Man Review. I belong to the Central Oregon Writer's Guild and am an active member of a critique group. Over the years I have attended numerous author-led workshops, and continue to engage myself in opportunities to improve my craft. |
