| Introduction | We are engaged in several local campaigns and lobbying: Incineration: Waste-Wood incinerator on Barry Dock, built without Environmental Impact Assessment and dependent on public subsidies – over close to people and homes. DIAG campaigning to stop it operating. Hinkley’s Mud dumping in the Estuary off Penarth. Excavated for building a jetty and laying huge pipes for cooling water for the Hinkley C nuclear power station. Contains radioactive elements from decades of discharges from the nuclear plants. Should never be released to the Estuary. Road-building: opposed the new Five-mile Lane through a most valuable archaeological site – descration of our heritage. Opposing the major road link to the M4 through the Pendoylan countryside. |
