| Introduction | Ruah Bhay, a born and raised West Village New Yorker has lived as a student, then a teacher and researcher over a breadth of several years in France, Senegal & Sri Lanka. She has came full circle to realize that returning home to NYC was meant to be. Ruah crossed paths and fell in love with yoga while she was living in Senegal nearly a decade ago. Ever since, bhakti (love & devotion) of yoga has entered her daily life on the mat, off of the mat and in full expression in teaching yoga. Ruah’s class invites students to challenge their bodies through connecting carefully aligned movement with the breath to awaken the senses and calm the mind. She would describe her class as a place that encourages learning in a firm, yet fun, loving and nurturing environment to help students find the best teacher in the room - the one within the self! Ruah is a teacher, writer, non-profit fundraiser, rollerblader, singer, lifetime athlete and meditation practitioner... amongst other things. She hold a B.A. in Political Science, an M.A. in Sustainable Development, a certification to teach English and a 500 hour Yogaworks Certification. |
