| Introduction | Spindrift is defined as "spray blown from the crests of waves by the wind". It is one of my favorite words in our language, and one of my favorite natural phenomena. On a clear but rough day at the ocean's edge, one can be soaked with spindrift as if standing in a rainstorm. My life in Maine has similarly soaked me in memories, impressions, and experiences.
