| Introduction | Jessie Marino (b.1984) is a musician who grew up in Long Island, New York. Her recent work explores the interplay of duality, conflict and balance between humans through her preferred medium, experimental theater-music. Jessie's work incorporates strong visual elements, including light, color and motion, with a base of both choreographed musical material and improvisation. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Cello Performance from the Manhattan School of Music. In 2006 she was awarded the Stamas Family Scholarship from Lincoln Center and has recently received support from NYFA, the Northern Manhattan Artists Alliances and Meet The Composer. As a cellist, Jessie performs regularly with Ensemble Pamplemousse and the Wet Ink Ensemble (NYC) and has worked alongside of influential composers such as Alvin Lucier, Beat Furrer, and Bernhard Lang.
