IntroductionI am an Egyptian born South African Greek. In my previous life I was a lawyer, diplomat at the UN in New York during the first Gulf War and restaurateur in Hout Bay, Cape Town. I am now happily a pavement philosopher, boulevardier, ethics advisor and writer. My blog contains my personal musings, essays, observations, reflections and meditations from the pavement where I enjoy my daily coffee with friends. I write about life and the quest for meaning. My aim is to amuse, entertain, provoke thought and occasionally inform in a philosophical and light-hearted way. I was educated mostly on the streets and pavements of South Africa, Greece and New York and in between lots of coffee and late nights obtained BA LLB degrees and a Masters in Applied Ethics. My writing is dedicated to my son who inspires me every day with his young enquiring mind, to my long-suffering wife who understands my need to write, to my distant muse and to the memory of my father who loved books.
