| Introduction | Bess was exposed to acupuncture as a young girl after being in a car accident. Thru this experience she learned about meridian theory and how to massage specific points on her body to help herself feel better. This significantly changed how Bess viewed wellness and her bodies ability to heal itself. After her undergraduate degree with emphasis on Medical Anthropology, Bess returned home to Mendocino, Ca to study Acupressure with an esteemed local teacher for 2 years. Bess began her formal studies at The American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, in 2002. She studied in Beijing, China in 2006. Her internships included: Women's Community Clinic, Haight Ashbury Free Clinic, Integrated HIV clinic. She spent 3 years interning with esteemed, Dr. Robert Johns L.Ac in Berkeley Ca. She has also devoted herself to studying the Shen/Hammer pulse system with Brian Laforgia L.Ac.Bess treats a wide range of patients, but specializes in women's health, anxiety/depression, pain and nutritional health. Outside of her practice, Bess' interests include spending time her sons, gardening, growing food, yoga, knitting and travel. |
