IntroductionStudied Archaeology of the Ancient Near East at the Institute of Archaeology, University College London, and Arabic at S.O.A.S., University of London. He has work on various archaeological projects in Egypt (Hierakonpolis/el-Kom el-Ahmar), Jordan (el-‘Azraq & Qasr Burqu’) and Syria (Tell Nebi Mend/Qadesh). He works as a field archaeologist for MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology) and for Era Arqueologia (Portugal), and is one of the main researchers of The Lisbon Mummy Project, for the National Museum of Archaeology, Lisbon. Author of several academic publications and contributor of texts to a number of photographic exhibitions on Syria, Egypt and Jordan, he also accompanies and lectures on cultural tours to countries in the Middle East, Central Asia, East Africa and India. Guest lecturer to scientific and academic institutions in the United Kingdom, Portugal and U.S.A., he has specific interests in the fields of Egyptology, the Roman Empire in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Iberian Peninsula, the origins and development of Islam, the Great Mughals, and in the contemporary history of the Arab World and Central Asia. He works and lives in London, Lisbon and the Middle East.
