| Introduction | Professor Hester has had a life rich in blessings from Heavenly Father, but it was not always like that. Born into abject third-world level poverty, when there was no such thing as welfare, he started to work at the age of 12 to help support his dad and two brothers. Raised on venison and pinto beans, he never knew exactly how poor he was, but his life was one adventure after another. There was no mother in the home but there was four males competing for everything; too much testosterone. According to society, he was born to be a loser. The reaper dealt blow after blow, all designed by our maker to humble him; these were death blows. Professor Hester survived, against all odds. Jumping forward to 2013, over 70 years of age, and we have a retired Professor of Accounting and a polished author in his own right. Who would have ever suspected that the little urchin would defy the odds and morph into the man he is today. His life has been stripped away, leaving just the essentials for old age and the never give up positive attitude that carried him through life. May you enjoy to product of his mind, the experience of his life, and the tenacity of a born loser, who made good. |
