About me

Introduction The ZAP Project was started in 2011 by a group of climbers in memory of Zachary Amadeus Parke, an avid climber and kind soul who was struck and killed while riding his bike. We strive to remember and honor all our friends who were taken too soon, and hope to show this through this blog, our ascents, and most of all, through community and friendship. Let's send all the routes and summit all the peaks that we know they'd have loved to climb! Our goal is simple. ZAP, our mascot, loves to climb. He'll get on anything, be it bouldering, sport, trad, ice, alpine ascents, or peak-bagging sprees. But he needs our help! Within him is our memory and love of all those we have lost whom we wish to share our ascents with. Bring him with you on a climb, take a photo, write a quick trip report in our blog, and pass him on to the next climber. Let's get him climbing all around the world!
