| Introduction | Through my years of teaching students the art of music, and playing the piano, I have noticed that most truths in this world are related directly to music, the piano, and the journey of perfecting our abilities to play the piano. Sometimes, simply practicing the piano has taught me things about life, and other times, life has taught me how to practice more effectively. Who would have "thunk it"? Rory is, at heart, just a piano player. All the rest is simply acting! Having no idea how to be a good teacher, a good husband, a good human being, one is forced to learn about these things, and begin aping every nuance. One also hopes that eventually it will all come together. What you read in these pages are simply ruminations on the many things I have learned through my years of teaching the art of music and playing the piano. Strangely, everything I witness seems to have a direct relationship to playing and practicing the piano! Imagine that! Please consider making comment. I'd love the feedback, and the dialogue. |
