Introduction	Hi! I am an art teacher in the greater Cincinnati area and I teach art to around 1,000 5th and 6th graders. I have been teaching since 1997, when I began my career with a part time position for a year. Then I moved to a parochial school for two years and after that began teaching in the school district where I teach now. As you probably can imagine (or not imagine) teaching this many students can be an adventure, but with having only two preps, 5th grade and 6th grade, it makes it a little more manageable to plan for 33 classes. Each class has art for 40 minutes once a week. I'm glad you stopped by to read my blog! I hope that what I share here from project ideas to tips on classroom management in the art room can be helpful to other art teachers.
