Location Wigan, Lancashire, United Kingdom
Introduction Formed in September 2001, the Horus Egyptology Society is a non-profit making organisation formed for the purpose of bringing to life the deeply fascinating world of Ancient Egypt. Our patron is the eminent Egyptologist Dr. Joann Fletcher, presenter and guest of countless TV documentaries and author of many highly acclaimed books including; The Search for Nefertiti and Cleopatra the Great. We currently have over 100 members and we meet on the last Thursday of alternate months at the DW Stadium, Wigan. Our evenings begin with a meal followed by a talk by an eminent guest speaker. The bar stays open afterwards for anyone who wants to stay and chat. Annual membership is £15 for adults and £10 for under 18's. In addition there is a meeting charge of £10 for adult members, £8.50 for under-18 members and £15 for guests which covers the cost of the meal and the speaker.
